Session 1

This was the first session of the Dungeons & Dragons campaign DM of the Week. The DM was Zad and it took place on October 20, 2024.

Summary

The party met at a way station halfway up a snowy mountain. Abra Cadaver, Suzy, and Ziti squeezed through the door simultaneously while Zad worked as a performer on stage and BlazeDragon was already at the bar drinking. It's unclear where Waldo was. Suzy knocked out a patron who tried to grope her and Abra accused Zad of murdering Lord Ratface, presenting a sketch that looks exactly like Zad. Shortly after, two large wolves barged in and attacked the party. The wolves were defeated, but BlazeDragon's throat was sliced open. A male-to-female transgender bartender explained he couldn't help, but said there's a doctor at the top of the mountain. However, BlazeDragon bled to "death" while somehow staying alive. At this point, the party realized everyone in the way station had mismatched body parts sewn together like Frankenstein's monster and the wolves were undead zombies.

Ziti decided she had enough of this strange place and led the party outside. Despite rolling a natural 20 when casting Light, she couldn't illuminate magical darkness. The party then heard a giant monster stomping nearby and decided to go back inside the way station.

Why did Abra Cadaver's sketch look like Zad if Zad didn't commit the murder? Who was the sketch depicting?
Why was Zad the only one working in the way station not already turned into a zombie?
What was the giant monster outside the way station? It disappeared by Session 2.
